Antakya, Turkey. Meysah Hicazi says she was the first woman who got injured after the protests in Latakia. She lost her left arm after being shot by Syrian soldiers – while walking home in the night of the fist protest in Latakia. She also lost a bother and a cousin during the same incident. She says after her stay in the hospital, she got a call from Latakia's governor Liad Farid Hijap apologizing for the shooting. Mr. Hijap was later appointed as the Prime Minister, and defected in August 2012. (Photo: Yusuf Sayman)
